PALOUSE: AUTUMN

Life As They Know It

Life As They Know It

Recently tilled fields show green patches peeking through the bronze wheat. These fields lie between Lewiston and Lapwaii in very western Idaho. Lewiston is across the Clearwater River from the Washington town of Clarkston, in the very heart of the Palouse. The Palouse is the only place in the world where giant three-foot white earthworms that smell like lilies are found.
