PALOUSE: AUTUMN

Off Moser Road in the Palouse, wheat fields with combine tracks. Before these hills were tilled for wheat, they were grazed upon by cattle, and before they were grazed on, they were covered in many kinds of grasses, short shrubs, flowers, mosses, and lichens. Underneath the rich Tuscan-esque hills there were levels and levels of fungi, algae, bacteria, and invertebrates that broke down the millions of root systems of decaying plants.
