I WANT US TO GO WEST

Why Does it Matter?

Why Does it Matter?

Another abandoned Oregon house, worlds away from anywhere, though there is a modern house nearby, across a small field. Probably at some point the inhabitants of this place felt it was time to shutter it up a build something new. People who see the photograph make comments to me that maybe reveal where they started out in life. “Oh, that reminds me of my grandmother’s house in North Dakota,” or “what a dump!” I guess it is what we make of it. I like its shabbiness but it was probably something very special in days gone by.
